Regarding the last ask post; what are YOUR favourite Soviet authors & books?
Could you recommend me some interesting soviet writers?
Oh but there are so many! Some of my favourites are Ilya Ilf & Yevgeniy Petrov (satire from 1920s—1930s), Strugatsky brothers (sci fi), Ilya Shtemler (working class dramas), Kir Bulychyov (sci fi), Mikhail Bulgakov (duh), Alexey Tolstoy (historical fiction, sci fi), Vladimir Nabokov (duh)… There are so many really, I’ve barely scraped the surface even though I love to read.

I'm currently doing research for my honors thesis on the politicization of visual culture in the Soviet Republics, and your blog is an amazing source for me--of both material and inspiration.
